Went for a few walks

 Went through the forest and to the local swamp to check out some wildlife. I caught a couple of creatures in action. Hope you like them.

Only one but.......

 I have never seen on of these guys sitting on a branch, sitting still period. This would be a ruby-throated hummingbird and a bird that seriously took my breath away.
I hope to get more pics soon of these guys, hard to believe its a little bigger then 3 quarters.

Out and shooting

well I managed to get out for a few minutes and shoot, I live right near a forest now that has a bunch of wild life. I just have to find the time to go there.

Spring has sprung!

Well life is certainly out there in full bloom, I have seen a lot of birds that I never even heard of and capture a few with my camera.
Now that spring/summer is here you may see more from me, winter is just to cold and blah.

JDRF walk

I do a walk every year for Diabetes research, its something I along with some of my friends and family members have. Its life changing and hard to accept at first, they say you can control it but the fact is you manipulate it to work for you, sometimes it doesnt.
There are so many factors to it, from losing a limp, going blind, to heart disease from it. Its not just something that disables you from having a lot of sugar, it can take your life.
Anyways I walk to raise money, whatever you have kicking around in your pockets would be greatly appreciated. I doing the walk with some friend in my area and our goal is $500, I would love to reach that.

My cat and studio lights

Got some studio lights and my cats wandered into the frame so I took a couple of shots. Here they are!

 

Once I get all setup and start going out more I should have more to post, just moved to a new house so things are a little busy with some of the cleaning and repairs.
thanks again to all the people who look at these, I do follow the stats and I'm amazed at how many people from other countries look at my pics. It always gives me goosebumps.

So my wife and I are moving to an area where there is a protected forest right in your backyard. I'm hoping that I will start going out a little more come next spring to take some pics. Its been hard lately but I hope to jump full into it.

Walk for a cure

Last July I was diagnosed with diabetes, along with that came heart disease and various other complications. I have learned a lot from various doctors and people around me and for the most part have everything under control.
This has opened my eyes to various health issues and the cures we need. I'm walking for a cure June 10th for diabetes, if you care to help please donate Here. I believe there is a cure out there and every little bit helps, if not for a cure then for help to make this disease a bit better to live with.

A trip to the Zoo

Went to the Toronto Zoo and caught a couple of pics, I find from holding a camera and finding beauty in the world that I stop taking pictures and just enjoy my surroundings. Photography has really opened my eyes to whats around me and I'm enjoying every moment.

Caught this guy wondering around my yard, still working on getting him to eat out of my hand. Soon, very soon though.

birds of prey close up and personal

Went to the mall today and they had a bird show going on, the place was packed with both adults and kids in awe of these amazing birds. Here are 2 really close up shots using a 100-400mm with an iso of 2500 just to catch the light at the distance I was at.

And one from my yard, I thought it looked kind of neat so I decided to post it as well.
